» Bulls Elite FAQ

How does a club team differ from a high school team?

Club basketball is a compliment to the student athlete’s High School regimine. The Club season begins after the current High School season is over, and typically running from March through the month of July. The Bulls Elite program is focused on preparing the student athlete for the level of play demanded by college programs. There are certain dates the change from year to year in which college recruiters can evaluate prospective athletes for their college programs. In addition to college observation tournaments we also compete in USJN, AAU and FTG action.

What are the fees associated with a Bulls Elite team?

The Bulls Elite has two divisions, a Junior Division for all players up to the eighth grade, and a Senior Division for all High School girls who are not yet Seniors. The fees for the junior Division include; All Facility fees, equipment, tournament entry fees, coaching fees, AAU registration fees, and related expenses. The Senior Division players participate in more tournaments so their fees are higher.  Fees for elite teams can range from $850 - $1200.  If you are a new player there is a uniform cost. If your team travels to non-local tournaments then there are additional costs including travel, room and board, etc.

What about the time involved?

There are at least two practices during the week from March through July. Teams will play in 8 to 12 tournaments over the course of the season.

What is involved in the committment to a Bulls Elite team?

It is expected that a player will make all the games and practices. There are always conflicts but absences disrupt the team and are unfair to the player’s coaches and teammates. Communication with the coaches is crucial about these items.

How many teams are there?

Currently we take one team per age group that are selected by ability level during the tryouts. Coaches may also use other settings where they have seen the player as a part of the evaluation process.

How does my daughter make a Bulls Elite team?

Register and come to the tryouts. Bulls Elite has open tryouts starting in March and each player has a chance to make one of the teams. No player is guaranteed a spot on a team. She is encouraged to make all the tryouts so that the coaches can evaluate her fairly. Please continue to check the website for the tryout dates for our next season.
If you do not make a Bulls Elite team, the Chicago Bulls Training Academy has many other options to help you improve your game.

What is Bulls Elite and how does it differ from Academy Teams?

The Bulls Elite Program is a highly competitive program that demands commitment from all of its athletes. Players commit themselves from March thru the end of July. They practice 2 hours a night, 2 nights a week with optional lifting and skill work throughout the week. In addition to the commitment of practices, the Bulls Elite teams participate in 2-3 weekend tournaments a month all over the Midwest and Chicagoland area. The Bulls Elite teams typically do not participate in the Academy leagues.

Each player’s commitment is very important to the success of the team and therefore there are no provisions for refund. Parents and players should agree to participate in the Bulls Elite Basketball Program only after careful consideration of the time and expense commitment.
